Food guide circle
A healthy diet is both, balanced and varied. The German Society of Nutrition developed the food guide circle which helps to provide orientation when choosing between different food groups for a healthy lifestyle:
- Choose out of 7 food groups every day!
- Keep in mind the diagrammed ratio of portions!
- Make use of the variety of different food in the groups!
Following this advice, the stage is set for achieving an adequate but qualitative nutritional status. In addition to this, it is important to observe the body weight and to keep physically fit. Certain group of people (pregnant women, athletes) do benefit from the implementation of dietary supplements.
